We expect iOS 18 to be released the week of 16 September. To give you an opportunity to absorb the information we’re sharing about the latest iPhone operating system, we’re releasing our iOS 18 show in good time. The show has around 2.5 hours of information about some of the things that are new. There’ll be particular emphasis on accessibility features. There is quite a bit new in VoiceOver this year, as well as a very powerful new feature called vocal shortcuts which I think you’ll like.

We’ll also take a look at other goodies including the revamped Control Centre, improvements to Voice Memos, the new password app and more.

And of course, our team will be here right after the Apple event on 9 September with episode 301, unpacking all the announcements, and giving you additional descriptions of the slides Apple displayed on the screen but didn’t talk about much.

A reminder that with Living Blindfully ceasing publication at the end of the month, Pinecast will soon cancel all Living Blindfully Plus subscriptions. However, if your subscription is due to renew within the next few days, you may wish to cancel it yourself, just to be sure you are not charged again. When your subscription expires, you will need to subscribe to the public feed of Living Blindfully by searching for it in your podcast app, to hear the few remaining episodes.

Want to go ahead and cancel right away? Here’s how, step by step.

Visit https://tips.pinecast.com

If you haven’t visited the site recently, you’ll need to log on. To do so, enter the email address you gave Pinecast when you became a Living Blindfully Plus subscriber, then press the “Continue” button.

This site does not ask you to enter a password. Instead, you’ll be sent an email containing a link which will log you in. Activate that link from the email you will receive.

You will then be taken to an Active Subscriptions page. If you have an active subscription to Living Blindfully associated with this email address, you will find the link for it there.

Activate the Living Blindfully link.

On the page called “Subscription to Living Blindfully”, you will find a button called “End Subscription”.

Press this button.

You will be asked to confirm cancellation, and reminded that you will lose private access when your billing period ends.

To proceed, press the “OK” button.

Pinecast will send you a confirmation email, so you know it worked. Be sure to check your Spam/Junk folder if you don’t get this.
