Kia ora Mosen at Largers. Our amazing community has put together another informative, thought-provoking listen for you, and it’ll be in your podcast app this weekend. Here’s a sneak peak of what you can expect. And if you get in touch now, you’re in time to comment on these or any other issues that are on your mind.
For last year’s Global Accessibility Awareness Day, Apple spilled the beans about new accessibility features in the forthcoming versions of iOS, MacOS and watchOS. At the time, I expressed the hope that this was the start of a regular occurrence. It looks like it was. Once again, Apple has told us about some of the new accessibility features coming in their operating systems expected to be released in September. I’ll recap them for you and give you my thoughts, and of course I am very interested in yours. If you took my advice and sprung for one of the pro models with Lidar built in, you’ll be feeling pleased that you did right now. Do the new accessibility features grab you? What are you most looking forward to?
On the other side of the smartphone street, it has been an incredibly frustrating week trying to get a straight answer from Google about support for HID Braille displays over Bluetooth in talkback for Android 13. Google’s support to date has been atrocious. Actually, to call it support isn’t fair to companies that offer, you know, real support. Hold on to your hats as I take you on my so far fruitless journey to get a straight answer to an important question. You never know, I might actually have a sensible answer by the time I record. I am an optimist by nature.
Lynette Frison will join me to talk about a new service called Fable Pathways. I can’t tell you anything more about it quite yet, but I will on the podcast, and I think you’ll be intrigued.
There’s plenty more on the show as well. If you want to raise something new, you’re very welcome. Please don’t be shy, I’d love to hear from you. What makes Mosen At Large special is the global community we’ve built and all the perspectives we share with each other.
